A work around is using tagging to tag products as Standard, Modern, etc.

Our clients and their customers absolutely need a way to search by Standard Format (as well as others). We are way behind the curve here and I know business has been lost within our client network because people cannot search by format (it's been reported)

I like the concept of catalog tools we can use through catalog.crystalcommerce.com, similar to how admin panel has the ability to select multiple categories for batch updates. this way we can batch update for the set range, and come back in with any ban-list adjustments ongoing. It would still require someone to watch the rotations for now.

seems a moderate path when compared to rooting through by hand each product or the other extreme of automating the update via having a bot browse each tcg site for updates on a periodic basis.

Having a bot sift all cards periodically on gatherer each day the banings announcement comes out, and shoot us that list that we can feed to the catalog and update the group... would work nice for Magic. Others would need to be done more like what I stated above, unless a saint comes along and provides for us, which could be the case, I haven't looked yet, but will do so shortly.
