We want customers to be notified when a product they want becomes available

We would like to create a category or list, similar to a wishlist, that customers can use for products that are currently out of stock, that will notify them via email when that product becomes available. So if for instance, a customer wants a copy of the newest print of Monopoly, and we have it on our site but not in stock, they can add it to a list and be informed when it comes in.
