In my shop, we have people load store credit onto their accounts daily. They do this so that they don't have to swipe their card or interact with the counter staff more formally. They can grab a soda, get the clerk's attention, and say "can you take this off my account?"- and my employee can tab over to the POS and do it without getting up. It's also a normal thing for parents that don't want to hand their kids cash, or for when they only have a card, to load money onto the kid's account for spending during their stay. There is absolutely no way in the POS to log this type of transfer. A function on the POS that allows this to happen as a recorded action, and a back-end reporting feature to separate these actions away from sales and other store credit actions would be super helpful for bookkeeping purposes.
