Improving the function of the Customer Tab

Can something be done with the customer tab, please.

1. It would be nice to have a separate selection for amazon and TCG type customers vs. instore and online direct store customers.

2. it is impossible to search for a possible customer by only a first or last name, unless it is really unique. Attempting to search always selects the top drop down offering.

3. Also it would be very useful to be able to merge customers.
