After having spent hours renaming all of one product type so that they all matched the same naming convention I was furious to discover a month or two later that half of my items got re-named again to some other convention because the check box for "use Catalog" was still checked and every time the manufacture of said product needs to update things they can.
It used to be the case that if you wanted to rename a product, you HAD to uncheck the "use Catalog" box else the item name was grayed out. Why that changed I don't know but now you can rename anything without unchecking that box and all your work can be wasted later on if and when a manufacturer pushes an update to CC. Also, you get no notification of which products have been updated so you can only find out by trial and error.
